Planar coil FPCs

Features

Our proprietary ultra-fine-pitch circuit technology and high-profile, high-aspect-ratio line production technology are used to mass-produce our own planar coil FPC products. The product is an ultra-fine, high-profile circuit produced in a spiral shape on a thin substrate.

Advantages of our planar coils

The circuits of our planar coils are characterized by a high fineness compared to general planar coils.
This enables the inductance to be higher with the same product size, or the product size to be smaller with the same inductance.

The technology that makes it possible to produce such extremely fine circuits is the semi-additive process (SAP).
The conventional manufacturing method (subtractive method) involves producing circuits (wiring) by removing copper, which results in a tapered shape, making it difficult to produce an extremely fine pitch. The semi-additive method we use produces lines by growing copper. This allows for the production of lines relatively free of taper, making it possible to produce an extremely fine circuit.

Application examples of planar coils

Application examples of planar coils for actuators, small motors, inductors, wireless power transfer, etc.

Planar coil for actuators

The property of acting as a magnet when electricity is passed through it is used to move an opposing permanent magnet. It is suitable for mechanisms that require thinness, such as smartphone cameras.

Inductor coil

Our inductor coils are very small products for passive components. The coil is about 1 to 2 mm in diameter. It is also possible to ship the product in sheet form as shown below, which helps reduce the burden on the manufacturing process.

Motor coil

A motor coil is a planar coil processed into a cylinder. This is a model currently under development for motor drive use.
